Two sections of K-23 Highway to see resurfacing projects

Two sections of K-23 have resurfacing work planned for this fall. The first section on K-23 is from the north city limits of Cimarron to the east junction of K-156 in Finney County. The second section is from the K-156 junction 14 miles north to the Finney/Lane county line.

 

In the first section, the project began with work being completed in smaller sections to reduce impact to motorists. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the project area, and the lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. Motorists should be aware of delays of up to 15 minutes as one-lane traffic will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car through the work zone. K-23 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.

 

Venture Corporation, from Great Bend, is the contractor on this $3.4 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.

 

On the second section, K-23 traffic will be reduced to one lane starting on Monday, Oct. 30. This project will also have delays of up to 15 minutes with traffic directed by flaggers and a pilot car through the work zone. K-23 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.

 

Venture Corporation, from Great Bend, is the contractor on this $7.6 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
