Three killed, one injured in building explosion in Bucklin

Ford County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Three people were killed, and one person was injured, after a building exploded Saturday in Bucklin. 

According to the Ford County Sheriff’s Office,  Ford County Communications received calls of an explosion in the 100 block of west Center Street in Bucklin, just before 5:30 pm

Members of the Ford County Sheriff’s Office, Ford County Fire/EMS and Bucklin Fire Department responded. Three individuals were located inside the building deceased and a fourth was transported to St. Catherine Hospital in Dodge City for medical treatment.
 
On Sunday, an update from the Ford County Sherriff’s Office said the structure is considered a commercial building on west Center Street and was being remodeled at the time of the incident.
 
Three victims were identified as 26-year-old Jerry Isakson of Dodge City, 29-year-old Robyn Hamilton of Dodge City, and 19-month-old Stormi Jackson of Dodge City. Injured was 26-year-old Christian Stimpert of Bucklin
 
 
The cause of the explosion and deaths are being investigated as an accident with the assistance of the Kansas State Fire Marshal Office and Ford County Fire.
