Man arrested in Scott City on warrant and drug possession
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Just before 11 am Monday morning, the Scott City Police Department was notified Shelby Salinas may be in Scott City and had a warrant out of Finney County. The Scott City Police Department notified the Scott County Sheriff’s Office of the information and began working to find the subject.
Just after 2 pm, Salinas was located standing outside 508 Jackson. Officers and Deputies contacted him and told him he was under arrest for the warrant. While attempting to handcuff Salinas, he ran on foot.
After a brief foot pursuit, Shelby S Salinas, 46, of Wichita, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Interference with LEO, a probation violation warrant out of Finney County for Aggravated Battery.
Assisting with searching for evidence was a K9 Unit from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Salinas was transported to the Scott County Jail and his case has been forwarded to the Scott County Attorney for prosecution.
