Cimarron wins GWAC tennis meet

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–In their final tune up before regionals this week, five Great West Activities Conference teams made the trip to Scott City for the annual GWAC tennis meet, held at the tennis courts at Scott City Middle School.

Cimarron would hold off Colby by three points to win their first GWAC title, while Scott City was in third place.

From the area, the Doubles team of Madison Roberts/Tatum Wells for Scott City would win the league title, while Cimarron’s Emily Goetz was the league runner-up in Singles.

Scott City will host a Class 4A Regional on Friday. Ulysses will be at that regional. Colby and Goodland will be at the Phillipsburg Regional for Class 3-2-1A on Friday & Saturday, while Cimarron heads to Hesston for the Class 3-2-1A Regional on Friday & Saturday.
