Area teams compete at Rim Rock Classic on Saturday
Lawrence, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Several schools from southwest Kansas made the trip to Rim Rock Farm outside of Lawrence on Saturday for the annual Rim Rock Classic.
In the Boys Blue race, Holcomb won the meet with 123 points, led by Brody Deniston’s fourth place finish. Scott City was seventh out of 44 teams. Ivan Armendariz was 37th.
For the Boys Crimson race, Dodge City was fourth out of 41 teams, as Gerardo Gamez Mora finished 20th for the Red Demons.
Garden City competed in the Boys Gold division, and placed 11th out of 39 teams. Leading the Buffaloes was Hayden Nemechek, who tied for 21st place.
In the Girls Blue race, Scott City was eighth out of 32 teams, as they were led by Belle Trout with a 33rd place finish. Holcomb placed 14th, as Jenera Ardery was 26th.
For the Girls Crimson race, Garden City was 12th and Dodge City was 14th out of 34 teams. Leading the Lady Buffs was Cate Wiese, who finished in 26th, while Dodge City was led by Miranda Alvarez Ramirez with an 81st place finish.
