Dighton man injured in grain truck accident

Lane County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Dighton man was injured Sunday afternoon, just before 4:30 in Lane County.

According to the report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1987 Ford L300 grain truck driven by 56-year-old Joel S. Herndon of Dighton was southbound on Dodge Road, about 3 1/2 miles south of Healy when the rear tire blew, causing the vehicle to lose control.

The vehicle struck a bridge rail and rolled off the bridge to the east. 

Herndon was taken to Wesley Medical Center for suspected serious injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the KHP report.
