Garden City boys, Scott City girls take Greeley County Invitational titles
Tribune, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Several area schools made their way to Tribune on Saturday morning for the Greeley County Invitational Cross Country meet. The meet added two teams later in the week in Garden City and Scott City. It would be the Buffalo boys taking the boys title, while the Lady Beaver team would win via tiebreaker over Garden City for the girls title.
Starting with the boys, Garden City was the meet champion with 27 points, followed by Scott City with 57 and Lakin had 60. Lakin’s Austin Ritsema was the meet champion.
For the girls, both Scott City and Garden City had identical team scores, but it came down to a tiebreaker, which the Lady Beavers would win. Both teams had 44 points, and Oakley was third. Belle Trout from Scott City would win the girls race.
