Six arrested in aggravated battery case
Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Garden City Police arrested six individuals for their involvement in an aggravated battery that occurred Wednesday night.
According to the GCPD release, 23-year-old Marc Guitron, 18-year-old Braydon Leonard, 24-year-old Evan Collier, 16-year-old Hayden Varner, and two 18-year-old women face charges from the incident which left a man seriously injured.
Around 11:10 p.m., August 23, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Davis Street regarding a possible fight in progress. When Officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old man had been beaten. Through the investigation, Guitron, Leonard, Collier, Varner, and the two women were identified as suspects and subsequently arrested. The victim was transported to St. Catherine Hospital and later flown to Colorado due to the extent of his injuries.
Guitron, Leonard, and Collier were lodged in the Finney County Jail for Aggravated Battery, Interference LEO (F), and Contributing to a Child’s Misconduct.
Varner was arrested for Aggravated Battery and released to his parents.
An affidavit for one 18-year-old woman was filed requesting the charges of Felony Interference of a Law Eenforcement Officer and Contributing to a Child’s Misconduct. An affidavit for the other woman was filed requesting the charge of Felony Interference of a Law Enforcement Officer.
