Scott City’s Thomas to respresent Scott City in Shrine Bowl

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Scott City has had a tradition of sending players to the Kansas Shrine Bowl. In the 50 years of the Shrine Bowl, it’s fitting the Beavers would add another to the list of players to suit up in the annual game. Jace Thomas will don the Scott City helmet one final time in the 50th Annual Kansas Shrine Bowl Saturday evening at Lewis-Field Stadium in Hays.

Thomas would be a three-year starter for the Beavers. As a senior, he rushed for 386 yards and four scores. Injuries would cut down on production over his junior and senior campaign. When healthy, he was a threat on the field.

In Saturday’s Shrine Bowl game, Thomas will wear No. 1, and will play linebacker.

He is the 31st player from Scott City to play in the game. Scott City ranks among the top 25 in the state among representatives from a school to compete in the game. The last player from Scott City was Hunter Yager in 2020.
