Scott City golf repeats as regional champions
Lakin, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Scott City would take the regional title on Monday at the Class 3A Regional Golf meet, held at Louck’s Park Municipal Golf Course. It’s their second consecutive regional title.
The Beavers finished with a team score of 335, 15 shots better than the second qualifying team in Colby, while Goodland was third. Lakin finished in fourth.
Leading the way for the Beavers was Jackson Rumford, who placed second, followed by Jaden Lewis in third, while Dylan Metzger was seventh. Kaleb Scripsick from Southwestern Heights placed fourth, qualifying for state. Cimarron’s Ryan Burman was ninth, and Lakin’s duo of Maddox Beltran and Cole Moore were 10th and 11th.
The Class 3A State Golf meet will be held at Mariah Hills Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday, May 22-23.
