Two men arrested in domestic disturbance cases

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Two men have been arrested by the Garden City Police Department, following investigations of domestic disturbance in separate incidents.

The first incident involves a Holcomb man, who was arrested on Monday following a domestic battery investigation. Eighteen year-old Jesus Villagran, faces several charges from the incident.
 
Around 8 a.m., Officers of the Garden City Police Department were dispatched to the east part of Garden City for a previous battery. Upon arrival, Officers met with a woman and learned a physical altercation occurred between her and Villagran. The investigation revealed that Villagran allegedly strangled the woman on several occasions throughout multiple locations. Villagran also allegedly entered the woman’s residence without permission before a family member intervened and Villagran left.
 
Officers located Villagran at his residence and took him into custody. Villagran was lodged in the Finney County Jail on the following charges: Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Burglary, Robbery, Criminal Restraint, and Criminal Trespassing.
 
 
The second incident involved a Garden City man was arrested early Saturday following a domestic battery investigation. Twenty-six year-old Jose Orona, faces several charges from the incident, in which he also became non-compliant with Officers during his arrest.
 
Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Officers met with a woman who had been involved in a physical altercation with Orona. The investigation revealed that the woman and Orona got into an argument, and Orona allegedly began hitting her. During the altercation, the woman attempted to leave the residence, but Orona allegedly pulled her back inside against her will. The woman was later able to sneak out of the residence and went directly to the Law Enforcement Center to notify Officers.
 
Officers contacted Orona at the residence and attempted to place him in custody. Orona became combative with Officers and after a struggle, Orona fled the scene. Orona was located in the area and taken into custody.
 
Orona was lodged in the Finney County Jail for Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Felony for Interference of a LEO, and Battery of a LEO.
