In the latest crop progress and condition report from USDA-NASS: For the week ending May 7, 2023, there were 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 39% very short, 34% short, 26% adequate, and 1% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 52% very short, 29% short, 19% adequate, and 0% surplus.

Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 37% very poor, 31% poor, 21% fair, 10%
good, and 1% excellent. Winter wheat jointed was 78%, near 81% last year and 82% for the five-year average. Headed was 32%, ahead of 27% last year and 24% average.

Corn planted was 47%, near 44% last year and 48% average. Emerged was 20%, near 16% last
year, and equal to average.

Soybeans planted was 29%, ahead of 15% last year and 14% average. Emerged was 6%, ahead
of 1% last year, and near 2% average.

Sorghum planted was 3%, near 2% both last year and average.

Cotton planted was 3%, behind 10% last year and 8% average.
