Satanta man injured in Haskell County accident
Haskell County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Satanta man was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle accident.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Report, a 2013 Mack semi driven by 73-year-old Victoriano Garcia of Satanta was preparing to make a left hand turn on Haskell County Road II from U.S. Highway 56, when a 1990 GMC Suburban driven by 79-year-old Eddie Eugene Massey of Satanta struck the rear of the trailer attached to the Mack semi. The Garcia vehicle came to rest facing southeast, blocking both lanes of U.S. Highway 56, while the Massey vehicle pulled over and stopped on the side of the road at U.S. 56 and Haskell County Road II.
Massey was taken to Satanta Hospital for suspected serious injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Garcia was not injured, and was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
