Kearny County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A resurfacing project is set to begin next week in Kearny County.

Traffic changes are scheduled to start on Monday, April 24, along K-25 from the Wichita/Kearny county line south to the U.S. 50/ K-25 junction.

K-25 traffic will be reduced to one lane through the project area to allow for a project to recycle the existing asphalt pavement, followed by a chip seal. Motorists should be aware of delays of up to 15 minutes as one-lane traffic will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car through the work zone. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. K-25 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.

Dustrol Inc. of Towanda, is the contractor on this $2.5 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.

For more information on this project, contact Larry Meyer, Area Construction Manager, at (620) 384-7821, or Yazmin Moreno, KDOT Public Affairs Manager for the southwest region, at (620) 260-6397.
