Second home damaged in Scott City, juvenile arrested
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A second home was damaged in as many days by three juveniles in Scott City.
Just before 4 pm on Friday, Officers with the Scott City Police Department responded to an address in the 900 block of Church Street. This was the second house in two days that had been damaged. Officers immediately observed extensive damage to the interior of the home. Damage of this residence is estimated to be between $75,000-$100,000.
As a result of this investigation, it was determined that the three juveniles involved in the damage from the house on West 8th were the same juveniles responsible for this incident as well.
The third suspect that was previously cited and released to parents was arrested and transported to the Southwest Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Garden City. A total of three juveniles have now been arrested for these two incidents.
We are still seeking information on a gun that was found during this investigation as well. These cases are still under investigation, and we ask anyone with information to please call the LEC at (620) 872-2133.
These cases have been referred to the Scott County Attorney for prosecution.
