Scott City tennis starts season with Ellsworth Invitational title
Ellsworth, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Thursday was the season-opener for the varsity squad, as they made the trip to Ellsworth for the Ellsworth Invitational. It would turn out to be a good day for the Beavers, as they would take the team title.
Scott City finished with 34 points, 10 points better than runner-up Ellsworth, while Colby was third with 16 points.
The Beavers won three of the four divisions, as they got a first place finish in No. 2 Singles from Dylan Duff, a first place finish in No. 1 Singles by Avry Noll/Sage Stoecklein, and a first place finish in No. 2 Doubles from Dante Franco/Ayden Presson. Houston Frank placed third at No. 1 Singles.
Up next for Scott City is the Great Bend Invitational on Saturday.
