New Mexico man killed in head-on crash
Gray County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A New Mexico man was killed Saturday night in a head-on accident on U.S. Highway 50 in Gray County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol report, 44-year-old Alegandro Santiago of Deming, New Mexico was westbound on U.S. Highway 50, two miles west of Ingalls, when he went left of center in his 2005 Dodge Durango, and collided head-on with an eastbound 2014 Peterbilt Semi-Tractor, driven by 37-year-old Rudy Klassen of Copeland.
Santiago was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital, where he died. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Klassen was wearing a seatbelt, according to the KHP report, and was uninjured. He also had two juveniles inside the semi, and the report did not release any information on them.
The accident occurred just before 9 pm Saturday.
