Traffic stop leads to arrest in Scott City

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City Police Department arrested two individuals after a traffic stop over the weekend.

Just after 10 am on Saturday, an Officer with the Scott City Police Department performed a traffic stop in the 500 block of Main Street for traffic violations. During the stop, the Officer developed probable cause to search the vehicle. As a result of the search, Officers located 18 grams of methamphetamine, 9 grams of marijuana, pills, and other drug paraphernalia.
 
Thirty-six year-old Samantha Larson, Topeka, Kansas was arrested for the following charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of an opiate, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp.
 
Thirty-two year-old Michael A. Tibbets, of Ozawkie, Kansas was arrested for the following charges of  possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, driving while suspended, transportation of an opened container, and driving while habitual violator.
 
Both were transported to the Scott County Jail and the case has been forwarded to the County Attorney for prosecution.
