Resurfacing project in Lane and Scott Counties to begin Monday

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Kansas Department of Transportation in Southwest Kansas has announced a resurfacing project to begin in Lane and Scott Counties, beginning Monday, March 20.

Traffic changes are scheduled to start, Monday, March 20, along K-96 from the east city limits of Scott City to the west city limits of Dighton.

The K-96 traffic will be reduced to one lane through the project area for milling of the existing pavement and overlay on the driving lanes. Motorists should be aware of delays of up to 15 minutes as one-lane traffic will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car through the work zone. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. K-96 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.
