Garden City teen killed in head-on crash

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Garden City teen was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 50, just east of North Campus Drive.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2017 Peterbuilt semi driven by 35-year-old Craig W. Potts of Garden City was Eastbound on U.S. Highway 50, when he went left of center and collided head on with a Westbound 2013 Fiat 500 driven by 16-year-old Cassandra. K. Linder of Garden City. The vehicles came to rest north of the roadway.

Both Potts and Linder were take to St. Catherine’s Hospital, where Linder was pronounced deceased.

It is unknown if Potts was wearing a seatbelt, while Linder was, according to the KHP report.
