Holcomb names Trey Teeter head football coach

Holcomb, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Nearly a month after nine-year head coach Kent Teeter submitted his resignation as Longhorn head football coach, Holcomb has promoted within. Trey Teeter was approved by the USD 363 Board of Education at their Monday night meeting, as the newest head coach for the program.

Teeter, son of former head coach Kent Teeter, has been an assistant with the Longhorn program for the last three years, and has also served as an assistant on the boys basketball and track teams.

He was a four-year starter at quarterback in high school, with the last two at Holcomb, where he had two Class 4A, Division II sub-state appearances, including leading the Longhorns to the state championship in 2015. 

Teeter played collegiately for one year at Hutchinson Community College, and served as a football assistant at Halstead High School for one year, and later as an assistant at Ellis High School for one year while at Fort Hays State University. He also participated in track at both colleges.
