Bandits pick up 7-3 win over Colorado

DODGE CITY–Kansas scored the first three goals of the match Sunday, and the Bandits took down Colorado 7-3 at United Wireless Arena.

Kansas opened the scoring with two goals in the final two minutes of the first quarter from Angel De La Cruz and Juan Herrera. Antonio De La Torre added a goal halfway through the second to build the Bandit lead to three, and Kansas led the rest of the match.

Colorado was able to cut the deficit down to just one on two different occasions, but the Bandits slammed the door with three straight goals again to close out the contest.

Antonio De La Torre led the Bandits with three goals and an assist. Erik Barragan chipped in two assists for Kansas.

Kansas outshot Colorado 26-19 overall in the match, including 9-1 in a dominant first quarter.

Sunday’s win marked the Bandits’ second consecutive victory over Colorado.

The Bandits improve to 3-6 with the win and return to action Saturday, Mar. 11 when they travel to Colorado. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. CT.
