Garden City Fire Department responds to single-wide trailer fire

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–At approximately 4:20 Monday morning, the Garden City Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 2213 Lincoln Road.
 
Upon arrival to the scene, Command identified a single-wide trailer with heavy smoke and fire. Fire personnel from Engine 2 were assigned the position of fire attack, while personnel from Engine 1 were assigned to search and rescue.
 
While doing a visual review of the structure, Command identified power lines that were becoming compromised. After the fire was deemed under control, Wheatland Electric made access to the power poles and cut power to overhead lines.
 
The fire was deemed under control just after 5 a.m.
 
No injuries were reported, and no damage estimates to the structure are known at this time.
 
The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s office was notified of the fire and was requested to assist Fire Marshal Robertson with the investigation. At this time, no official cause has been determined and the Finney County Sheriff’s Office is taking over the investigation.
 
The GC Fire Department will continue to assist with information as it becomes available and/or is requested.
