Lady Demons defeated by Manhattan 46-35, finish 6th at Mid America Classic

MCPHERSON–Manhattan used balanced scoring and shared the ball well to defeat Dodge City 46-35 Saturday in the fifth-place game of the Mid America Classic at McPherson’s Roundhouse.

The Lady Indians’ best scorer in the game was freshman Kat Ball, who scored 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting and 3-for-4 at the free throw line. Paige Chauncey also touched double figures with 11 points.

Manhattan assisted on 14 of their 17 field goals, which was one of their highest percentages of the season.

Manhattan also outscored Dodge City 27-0 in bench production.

Unruh led Dodge City in scoring again with 17 points and finished the tournament with 51 overall.

Dodge led 8-6 after the first quarter, but an 11-0 run in the second put Manhattan in front for good and cruised in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Demons fall to 5-8 with the loss and return to action Tuesday when they travel to Garden City. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
