Scott City man arrested for auto theft
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Scott City man was arrested after a car was reported stolen.
The Scott City Police Department reported a car was reported stolen Sunday evening just before 6 pm in the 700 block of South Antelope Street. Officers with the SCPD immediately began an investigation, and located the stolen vehicle parked at location in Scott City around 1:30 am Monday morning. After locating the vehicle, officers began doing surveillance until the vehicle and suspect left that address. The driver was taken into custody after a traffic stop was performed.
Arrested was 57-year-old Charles Chambless, Jr. of Scott City for Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Driving
While Suspended.
Chambless was placed in Scott County Jail and charges will be forwarded to the Scott County Attorney for prosecution.
