Liberal woman injured in Haskell County accident
Haskell County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Liberal woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Haskell County at approximately 1:55 pm.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2014 Lincoln MKZ driven by 25-year old Nicholle Salinas-Perez of Liberal was northbound on U.S. Highway 83, when she failed to to see a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by 19-year old Jesse Loepky of Satanta, slowing down to turn east on Haskell County Road 180. Salinas-Perez struck the rear of the Loepky vehicle, as the Lincoln came to rest on the east shoulder of U.S. Highway 83 facing north, while the Fusion came to rest facing east on the shoulder of County Road 180.
Salinas-Perez was taken to Satanta District Hospital for minor injuries, while Loepky was not injured. There were two juveniles in the Salinas-Perez vehicle. Their information is withheld, due to being minors.
Both Salinas-Perez and Loepky were wearing seatbelts, according to the highway patrol report.
