Balanced scoring, strong rebounding leads Conq men to 3rd consecutive win

TRINIDAD–Five players scored in double figures for Dodge City Saturday, and the Conqs out-muscled Otero on the boards for an 83-69 win in the Trinidad Classic at Scott Gym.

DJ Jones and Cam Malray each scored 13 points, but three bench players also scored in double figures, including Jason Edwards with 12, Japan Davis with 10, and Tuscan Onuoha with 10.

The Conqs focused on pounding the ball inside, racking up 50 points in the paint. They attempted only eight threes in the game.

Dodge also out-rebounded Otero 46-29, their largest rebounding margin of the season.

The Conquistadors improve to 3-1 with the win.

Dodge City returns to action Tuesday when they travel to McCook. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
