Hugoton’s Hamlin signs with Wyoming

Hugoton, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Hugoton has turned out quite a few basketball players in recent history that have taken their talents to the college level.

You can add a new player to the list, as Mikyn Hamlin made it official this week, by signing her letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

Hamlin has been a three-year starter for a program that has gone 61-11 over the last three seasons, with two trips to the Class 3A State Tournament, with a runner-up finish in 2022. In her junior campaign, she eclipsed the 1,000-point mark during the Sterling Invitational, and over the course of the season, she scored an average of 17.5 points, while grabbing seven boards and had averaged two steals per contest.

She is a three-time GWAC First Team member to go along with all-state accolades.

Hamlin is majoring in psychology.
