One man stabbed in Garden City McDonalds
Garden City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com) – On October 26, 2022, at around 3:35 P.M., Officers of the Garden City Police Department were dispatched to 1106 N. Taylor Avenue (McDonald’s) for a fight in progress. Upon arrival, Officers located a woman and two men standing outside of the business and
learned one of the men had been stabbed.
The investigation revealed that the three individuals were shopping in Garden City when they were confronted by a man known to them, identified as Adam Barnett (33), Scott City, KS. The three individuals fled the confrontation in their vehicle with Barnett attempting to follow them. The three individuals believed they had lost Barnett and stopped to eat at McDonald’s West. Barnett arrived at McDonald’s a short time later. Barnett exited his vehicle with a knife in his hand and began walking towards the business. The two men met Barnett in the parking lot, and a physical altercation ensued. The fight continued inside the business near the female restroom where the woman was hiding. One of the men attempted to stop Barnett from entering the restroom when Barnett stabbed him. The fight was broken up, and Barnett then fled the area in his vehicle. The victim (32-year-old male) was transported to St. Catherine Hospital, where he was treated and released for his injury. No other injuries were reported from the incident.
Barnett was later located and taken into custody. Barnett was lodged in the Finney County
Jail on the following charges:
• Aggravated Battery
• Aggravated Assault
• Stalking
• Criminal Use of a Weapon
