Conqs rolled in 2nd-straight loss
FORT DODGE – No. 15 Iowa Central used a balanced and diverse attack, utilizing six quarterbacks and 12 different receivers to roll Dodge City 49-22 Saturday at Dodger Stadium.
The Triton offense was led by Zach Marker, who completed 10-of-15 passes for 109 yards and four touchdowns. Desna Washington, who has 13 Division I offers, caught nine passes for 162 yards and a score.
Dodge City quarterback Grant Ciccarone showed continued improvement, completing 21-of-33 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns. His stock has steadily risen over the last three weeks after solid performances against Hutchinson and Ellsworth.
The Conquistadors faced more struggles on the ground, as they were held to only 24 rushing yards in the game.
Jalen Rose Hannah led the Conqs with seven grabs for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Dodge City falls to 3-5 with the loss and 1-3 in KJCCC play. Saturday’s loss marked Dodge City’s third consecutive loss to Iowa Central.
The Conquistadors are on bye next week and return to action Saturday, Nov. 5 when they travel to Butler. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
