Topeka, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Kansas State High School Activities Association released their yearly classifications Friday morning, and it has several area schools changing classifications.

Starting off with Hugoton, as they will be moving up to Class 4A this year, after being in Class 3A in recent years. Two schools will be moving up to Class 2A from Class 1A, as Wichita County and Meade will bump back up after being a 1A school for one year. Mead is the smallest Class 2A school.

Enrollment wise, Garden City and Dodge City are the sixth largest Class 6A schools, and Holcomb is the second largest Class 3A school.

These classifications do not effect girls tennis and football, which are on two-year cycles.
