Scott City cross country looking to return to state

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–While this year’s Scott City cross country team may have one combined senior out of their 24 runners, they do not lack experience.

While the girls team did lose two of their top three seniors from last year, the boys lost just one varsity runner from a team that was eighth place in Class 3A.

Brinlie Stevens returns as the top runner for the Lady Beavers, while Bryndan Bailey will look to improve on his 33rd place finish at state last season.

Scott City has seven girls and 17 boys on this years team. Joey Meyer is in his third year as head coach, while Emily Mulligan is in her first year as an assistant.

They will begin their season September 1 at Goodland
