GCCC awarded $150,000 in state tax credits
Garden City, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) – Garden City Community College has been selected by
Governor Laura Kelly to receive Community Service Tax Credits (CSP) in the amount of
$150,000.
The program will allow the GCCC Endowment Association to sell 50% tax credits towards the
Fine Arts Expansion project, an addition to the college’s fine arts building to expand programs
and create a new gallery space and a community event center.
Community tax credits are a tool that dramatically enhances fundraising efforts, providing a
50% tax credit to qualified donors. For example, a donor making a $1,000 contribution receives
a $500 tax credit when they file their state taxes, making the net cost to the donor only $500.
The GCCC Endowment Association is one of 29 Kansas non-profits from across the state
selected based on a highly competitive, score-based selection process. A total of 55 agencies
applied for funds.
Local donors interested in purchasing tax credits for this project should contact Scott Kedrowski
