Colby, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City boys golf team had to wait a day to hit the links, as the Colby Invitational golf tournament was moved to Friday. It turned out to be a good move, as they would have a nice day at Meadow Lake Golf Course, which turns out is the site for the Class 3A regional tournament in 10 days.

Scott City finished third as a team overall. Rawlins County won the meet with a team score of 333, five shots better than runner-up Colby, who had a 338. The Beavers had a score of 347.

Leading the way for Scott City was Jackson Rumford, who finished in a tie for fourth with a score of 82, Jaden Lewis was tied for sixth with a round of 85, and Kale Wheeler placed 11 with a score of 87. Dylan Metzger tied for 17th with a score of 93, Conner Armendariz was 19th with a 94 and Matteo Bianco was 20th, shooting a round of 95.

Up next is the Great West Activities Conference meet in Scott City on Thursday.
