Holcomb, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Two teams who return virtually their entire lineup from last year met on a windy Tuesday afternoon in Holcomb, as the Lady Longhorns played host to Scott City in GWAC play. It was also a rematch of last year’s regional final, where Holcomb rallied in the late innings to stun the Lady Beavers. It would be a doubleheader where Scott City combined for five home runs in the doubleheader, as they swept the Lady Longhorns 5-2 and 11-0.

Scott City 5, Holcomb 2, Game 1
Holcomb grabbed the early lead in the bottom of the first on a solo home run by Rian Rodrgiuez to lead 1-0. The Lady Beavers came and tied the game in the top of the second on an RBI single that scored Rhiley Stoppel.
