Garden City tennis wins Great Bend Invitational over Scott City on tiebreaker
Great Bend, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Three southwest Kansas area schools occupied the top three spots on Saturday at the Great Bend Invitational. Garden City and Scott City would tie with 55 points. Despite the Beavers winning the No. 2 Singles and No. 2 Doubles, the Buffaloes won the tiebreaker on criteria to win the tournament title. Garden City had more head-to-head wins over Scott City. Dodge City came in third place with 38 points.
Garden City’s Logan Morren was the No. 1 Singles champion, while Scott City saw Dylan Duff win the No. 2 Singles and their No. 2 Doubles team of Dante Franco/Benjamin Resendiz win the meet. Dodge City’s No. 1 Doubles team of Hayden Carrollo/Oscar Alvarardo Martinez win the tournament.
