Car Strikes School Bus While Stopped In Garden City

GARDEN CITY, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) – Thursday, a school bus picking up children west of Garden City was struck by an on coming car.

According to the KHP, the crash occurred in the 2500 block of W Maple or 2 tenths of a mile west of VFW Road on Maple Road.

The Kansas Highway Patrol stated that a school bus with 6 passengers, was stopped on the side of the road with its stop sign out, and flashing lights on. As the bus was waiting for a pedestrian to load the bus, a 2019 Chrysler 300 driven by Brittney Garcia, 32, Garden City, failed to stop , rear ending the bus.

All kids and bus driver were ok and refused treatment. The driver of the Chrysler was transported to St Catherine’s with suspected minor injury.
