Scott City wrestling 8th in Lexington, Girls wrestle in Cimarron

Lexington, NE (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City wrestling team made their annual trip to Lexington on Friday and Saturday to compete in the John Higgins Invitational. After a dual loss to the Minutemen on Friday 41-34, the faced some solid competition from Nebraska and Colorado on Saturday in the tournament. 

Shorthanded due to sickness and injury, the Beavers would place seven wrestlers out of 12, with the highest placing fourth. That included Collin McDaniel at 126, Zach Rohrbough at 145, and JP Harris at 220. Rohrbough reach 100 career wins by winning his quarterfinal match. 

Scott City would send three girls to wrestle at the Cimarron Invitational on Friday. MacKayla Miller would take the title in the 191/235 girls division to lead the way. 

Scott City boys varsity will compete in the Rocky Welton Invitational on Friday and Saturday, while the Girls head to the Larned Invitational on Saturday.
