Area wrestlers ranked in latest polls
Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association released their latest polls on Tuesday, and there are several area wrestlers ranked in their classifications.
Starting in Class 6A boys, Dodge City is at No. 2, while Garden City is ranked fifth. The Red Demons have eight wrestlers ranked, while the Buffaloes have five ranked. In Class 4A, Scott City enters the rankings for the first time this year, coming in at No. 9. the Beavers have three wrestlers ranked in the top six. While no teams are ranked in Class 3-2-1A, there are two wrestlers ranked, both from Wichita County.
On the Girls side, Dodge City is ranked third and Garden City sixth in Class 6-5A. The Lady Red Demons have six wrestlers ranked and the Lady Buffs have five ranked. In Class 4-1A, Lakin enters ranked sixth with two wrestlers ranked. Scott City also has one ranked wrestler.
