Scott City wrestling wins season-opening dual at Goodland
Goodland, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City wrestling team got their season off to a good start on Friday night, as they made their way to Goodland to face the Cowboys in a dual. While it was a good head to head battle between the Beavers and Cowboys, it was also a historic night for the Scott City team, as they had their first girls matches in school history. In the dual itself, Scott City would pick up a 42-33 win over Goodland.
In junior varsity matches, the Beavers won nine of 11. The girls matches saw the Lady Beavers drop their four matches wrestled.
Scott City will send varsity to the Hoxie Invitational on Saturday, and the junior varsity and girls to the Goodland JV Invitational.
