Suspect arrested in standoff situation

11/18/2021 (westernkansasnews.com) One person has been taken into custody after a 4 hour standoff in Garden City.

Around 1:00 P.M. officers of the Garden City Police Department received a call regarding aggravated assault in the 600 block of west Olive. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect at large had current warrants for Auto burglary and theft.

Police and swat units quickly arrived a long with EMS personnel. Officers and swat made several verbal attempts over PA systems until finally the officers were able to make a incident free arrest.

The suspect was finally taken into custody around 5:00 PM. Garden City Fire Department was dispatched after to ventilate the residence.
