GCCC Endowment Association sets date for auction

GARDEN CITY, Kan. — Garden City Community College’s Endowment Association will host the 41st Annual Scholarship Auction on Friday, April 12 at 6:30 PM in the Finney County Exhibition Building. After a long, cold winter, celebrate the simple pleasures of summer with this year’s theme of Backyard Barbeque. Admission to the auction is $25 and includes snacks and unlimited beverages. For an additional $10 purchase, patrons can enjoy a barbeque meal, including a pulled pork sandwich and two pork ribs or the lent-friendly choice of baked catfish. Both options will be served with potato salad, baked beans, and a s’mores brownie.
Tickets are only available in advance at the following locations: GCCC Endowment Office at 801 Campus Drive, Kinney Glass at 415 N 8th St., Lewis Chevrolet Cadillac of Garden City at 1903 E. US 50 Business, Skeeter’s Body Shop at 3104 W Jones Ave., and Wharton’s for Every Bloomin’ Thing at 906 N 10th St.
This year, the auction will feature a drawing for a 2019 Chevy Camaro Coupe. Raffle tickets for the Camaro are available for a $50 donation at any of the ticket locations mentioned above. A silent and live auction will take place throughout the night.
No one under 21 years of age will be admitted to this event. The annual Endowment Scholarship Auction is a benefit for GCCC academic and technical scholarships.
