Juan Andrada, age 90, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin. He was born June 24, 1923 at Del Rio, Texas, the son of Antonio & Cipriana (Arredondo) Andrada. Juan married Refugia Guebara on January 22, 1944 at Meadow, Texas. She died on February 4, 2002. 

Juan grew up in Del Rio, Texas He moved to Garden City in 1952 and worked for famers and then at Circle Feeders. After retiring he spent 8 years serving as a crossing guard at Jennie Wilson School. He enjoyed fishing, watching western movies and especially being involved with his grandchildren’s activities. Juan was a member of the Church of God Of The First Born in Garden City. . He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sons – Alfred and Lupe. 

Survivors include two sons, Juan Andrada, Jr. of Hooker, Oklahoma, and Sammy Andrada of Austin, Texas; eight daughters, Tonia Rodriquez of Amarillo, Texas, Martha Rincones of Garden City, Rosie Rodriquez of Liberal, Rebecca Andrada Garden City Betty Andrada of Garden City, Melda Montanez of Garden City, Alberta Andrada of Fort Worth, Texas, and Anita Mata of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Freddie Andrada of Canyon, Texas; 34 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday at Garnand Funeral Home and from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Tuesday , at Church Of God Of The First born. 

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Church Of God Of The First Born with Pastor John Janis officiating.

Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. 

An evening service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Church Of God Of The First Born. 

Memorials may be given to the Juan Andrada Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
