Man arrested on DUI charge after running red light

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Garden City man was arrested for driving under the influence after he failed to pull over for an emergency vehicle Tuesday evening.
In a release from the GCPD, 41-year-old Carlos Lopez-Gonzalez, faces charges from the incident.
Around 7:35 p.m. Tuesday evening, Officers of the Garden City Police Department observed a vehicle run the red light at the intersection of Mary and Fleming Streets and almost strike two other vehicles. When Officers attempted a traffic stop, Lopez-Gonzalez slowed but did not stop and headed southbound until arriving at his residence in the 2100 block of Cherokee Road. Lopez-Gonzalez was taken into custody, and through further investigation, it was determined he was driving under the influence.
Lopez-Gonzalez was lodged in the Finney County Jail for DUI, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, and disobeying traffic control device.
