Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Last weekend the entire community in Garden City was saddened when a 80 year old woman while walking was struck and killed by a hit and run driver. City Manager Matt Allen says the safety of pedestrians and where crosswalks are placed is always being evaluated and this is done through a traffic advisory board.
Part of safety focuses on education for both drivers and pedestrians.
Allen hopes this message resonates, but as creatures of habit, knows this is a tough battle.
