Hays, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-The high school soccer season usually starts with a feeling out process. That wasn’t exactly the case Tuesday night.
The Buffaloes built a 2-0 halftime leading before adding four more goals in the final 40 minutes to beat Hays 6-1.
“Started slowly, but we definitely finished strong,” senior midfielder Miguel Hernandez said.
Hernandez scored in the 59th minute, but the damage was done much earlier.
Alex Morales netted two first-half goals and added the hat trick in the 51st minute. Jose Herrera and Jesus Vasquez also scored.
Garden City outshot Hays 20-8.
